The Rotary Club of Mandeville, Manchester, held its annual Valentine's gala dinner and dance on Saturday, February 14, and it was as splendid as ever.

The much-anticipated event was held at a new venue this year, Las Palmas, on Villa Road, in Mandeville. The three-storey complex was recently completed by Dr Patrick Adizua, past assistant district governor of Rotary and is now open for business.

Caterers, Galloping Gourmet, outdid themselves this year. The food was out of this world and included herb-crusted fish fillet with Scotch bonnet fruit chutney, stuffed breast of chicken with turkey sausage and raisins served with mushroom sauce. The who's who of Mandeville society had a whale of a time with Dwight Richards and Company, entertainers for the evening.
