At a time of severe challenges in the local and global economy, the staging of a business expo by the Adventist-laymen's Services and Industries (ASI) is an expression of faith that 'with Christ, all things are possible'.

ASI provides Adventists worldwide with opportunities, avenues and niches for 'sharing Christ in the marketplace'. At a time when our nation needs the services of all its citizens in the restoration of morals and values, entrepreneurs, professionals and laypersons engaged in economic activities must increasingly become conduits for transformation.

Entrepreneurial success should not be measured only by profitability, but also the extent to which it serves to promote ethical principles and practices in the wider society. I, therefore, welcome efforts to engage the young people of Jamaica and hope that the seeds planted at this expo will germinate and ultimately produce businesses that are ethical in focus and operation.
