Pulse's Caribbean Model Search (CMS) begins on September 6 at the Hilton Kingston hotel. Four categories will be contested: the male, female, petite and full figure.

Today, The Gleaner features three of the petite models.

Tshura Dennis

Age: 16

Height: 5'9"

Tshura has always had big dreams of a career in fashion and as a finalist in the Caribbean Model Search competition she is finally on her way. The culinary arts student claims she was destined to end up in fashion one way or another.

"I've always admired how elegant models are on the runway and I keep telling myself one day that I will be up there," she said.

In addition to fashion, Tshura has a keen interest in reading and rock music, quoting Danielle Steele as her favourite author and Linkin Park as her favourite rock band.

Tawana Thompson

Age: 16

Height: 5'8"

"I have the height, I have the looks and I have the passion for fashion," professes budding model, Tawana Thompson. Inspired greatly by Pulse star Nadine Willis, Tawana says she believes her experiences in the CMS will certainly project her on the right path for stardom.

"CMS has discovered some really great models and I hope to be the next major star out of Jamaica," she says. Tawana hopes to open her own chain of restaurants after a successful career in the fashion industry.

Kemesha Empty

Age: 20

Height: 5'11.5"

Kemesha Empty is determination personified. She lives by the adage that 'if you want something bad enough, you should be prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve it'. After watching several seasons of the CMS reality TV show, Kemesha was determined to audition and land a spot in the TV finals.

"I love the TV show. Week after week you watch girls like Rochelle Notice and Shevolee Bell grow from ordinary girls into beautiful models. I want to be just like them!"
