He is going to ensure that equity and justice prevail; he is not a partial person. He is going to use the benefit of Christianity to ensure that he attends to humanity.

Rev Courtney Stewart, general secretary Bible Society of the West Indies

"He will bring to the office a measure of integrity and thoroughness. Whatever he says, it is so; you don't have to second-guess, you don't have to speculate. he says what he means and he means what he says. He is a man of the Word, and he is a man of his word."

Mrs Joyce McKenzie, former congregant of Dr Allen and family friend

Dr Allen is a great administrator and a thinker. He had ideas about the development of the church, how well the church can reach the community through involvement. he was very good at that. He is also a very humane person and will bring this quality to his position as governor general in seeing how he can move the country in directions to make people feel how they ought to feel.

Steadman Fuller - friend and former teaching colleague

With his strong, moral Christian background, I am positive that all that comes from him is going to be good. He is not afraid to speak to issues of morality and integrity. I think that is what he brings to the job.

While I certainly think he will seek to draw to the fore Christian and moral values, I don't think he will try to influence others to become Seventh-day Adventists; but he will stick to his convictions.
