My dears, the Virgos continue to celebrate and with the gusto of the fabulous people they are!
Now, the word is, expect an all-white Virgo affair sometime soon, as all will get together in the colours of their sign and do party in fabulous style, late September.
In the meantime, on Tuesday of this week, the lovely Dawn Young of the Office of the Prime Minister celebrated her birthday, and my dears, while she made plans for some quiet time with her paramour., this was not to be, at least initially, as her friends decided that for someone who is always busy scheduling and/or planning parties for others, they would throw a little something for her.
Love-fest
Well, the venue was the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, my dears, and the buzz is, it was all that and then some - you know, a love-fest of sorts as friends, colleagues and well-wishers all gathered to do party honours in the name of Ms. Young, and sweet things, they did.
No word yet as to which birthday this one was, as the candles on the cake were more of an indication of the fire and passion the celebrant is known for, and not rounded off in decades as happens these days. But toasts there were and a-plenty, and with premium libations, the affair continued way into the night, with the blushing guest-of-honour gushing her surprise at those who outfoxed her and got her closest friends to keep their lips sealed in order to make it truly a surprise!
Well, no surprises here for advertising and marketing guru, Robert MacMillan, as this Virgo celebrated his birthday the following day, Wednesday, September 13. But with this being the eve of a big zero, he decided on some rather quiet and under-the-radar celebration, that was more like an event-packed day and night as against one mega celebration.
Milestone celebrations
Not to worry, however, as the list for next year's milestone celebrations has already been whittled down to friends and consular colleagues, and it promises to be all that!
In the meantime, however, his friend, the charmingly fab Stefanie McIntyre's tour of duty comes to an end this month. The lovely lass has already planned her return to England, and to celebrate her sojourn here, Robert MacMillan has organised what promises to be a fab little soiree for this evening, in the form of a farewell do, to honour the JNN presenter and financial analyst.
Pumpkins, those in the know, and the invited already know the location, and it being one of Kingston's leading social arteries, y'all know it promises to be all that and then some!
And speaking of the fab taking leave of our shores, my dears, it's only a matter of weeks before another of Kingston's favourite diplomats will be taking leave of our shores as not only has his tour of duty come to an end, but the rather charming and affable Head of the EU Delegation, HE Gerd Jarchow, goes into retirement.
Diplomatic void
Now, his imminent departure will leave a void not only in the diplomatic community where he served, but also within the hallowed halls of high society. While we lament Ambassador Jarchow's impending departure, all is not lost, however, as with his wife being the lovely Mara Mandara (a Jamaican), the hope and expectation are that Gerd and Mara Jarchow will make Jamaica at least their winter home.
And no word yet as to when the new Canadian High Commissioner-designate, HE Dennis Kingsley, will take up office, but that could be any day soon. But with the official residence of the High Commission slated to undergo major refurbishment, that could still be up in the air.
Anyway, his arrival is being greatly anticipated as indeed, following on the performance of Canada's last two High Commissioners to Kingston, High Commissioner-designate Dennis Kingsley has some major shoes to fill.
And honeys, the seventh anniversary weekend-long celebrations of Hedonism III resort got under way last night, so y'all know that this is the preferred address for this weekend.
Honeys, last night there was hell to pay, so continue watching these pages for the fun-filled details.
Now, party-on, and at all times remembering: Living well, is the best revenge!
