T&T: Teen kills self in court
published: Friday | September 15, 2006

Port-Of-Spain (Trinidad Express):

A troubled teenager Wednes-day committed suicide behind the guarded walls of the Family Court in Port of Spain, after being remanded by a magistrate to the Youth Training Centre for delinquent behaviour.

The incident took place at around 4 p.m., an exclusive TV6 report said last night. Sources told TV6 that 16-year-old Marlon Aguillera had earlier appeared before Senior Magistrate Cardinez Ragoonanan in the Family Court.

The boy, who had a history of violent behaviour, including selling drugs, was sent to the YTC in Arouca a year ago, and was subsequently released on probation, with a warning to get back on track.

On Wednesday, his mother took him before the Family Court once more, complaining he had again resorted to his delinquency, and asking the magistrate to help her get him under control.
