Fritz Pinnock is Maritime Institute's exec director

PINNOCK

THE BOARD of directors of the Caribbean Maritime Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Fritz Pinnock to the position of executive director effective July 3. Mr. Pinnock is the second Jamaica-born executive director to be appointed to the institute since its inception in 1980 and the sixth in line of executive directors.

As group managing director of Lannaman & Morris Shipping Limited, Metro Investments Limited, Metro Logistics, Seafreight Jamaica Limited and Ocho Rios Cruise Ship Port, Mr. Pinnock brings to the organisation a wealth of experience in operational marketing, financial management and information systems.

A doctoral candidate, Mr. Pinnock holds a Master of Science degree in international shipping and logistics from the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and accounts (management studies) from the University of the West Indies, Mona, in addition to many professional qualifications and membership in several professional bodies.

In addition to being an international maritime consultant and management trainer, Mr. Pinnock is a course developer. He has also written and published various articles and research papers on shipping and logistic matters.

Mr. Pinnock was born in Montego Bay, St. James, but grew up in Siloah, St. Elizabeth. He attended Munro College. A voracious reader, he is passionate about boating and outdoor sports. He is a deacon and lay preacher in the Christian Church, as well as a counsellor and adviser to various charities, prison ministries and HIV hospices.

Mr. Pinnock is married to Lois and is the proud father of two girls.
