Where are the morals?
published: Tuesday | July 11, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MANY ARE grateful that your newspaper brought the sordid case to the attention of the public.

I am truly incensed.

What sort of "ex-judge" is that? What sort of "deacon" is that? What sort of human beings are they? Do those things really call themselves 'men'? Have the boys got no sisters? Is this an outcome of sex education in our schools?

Is there a causal relationship with the freeing up of media channels, specially cable?

What the hell is with this video thing of late? First the King videos and now this?

Is this a sign that our girl children are not safe in this city? Is this a statement that we have all collectively failed in upholding that which is good and clean in this nation?

All churches in Jamaica should close on Sunday, from dawn to 10 a.m. to mourn the death of decency in Jamaica and all religious programmes should be OFF-AIR for the same period ... for the same reason.

I am sad for my potentially great little country.

I am, etc.,

ALMA MOCKYEN, C.D.
